Water leak sensor
Sensitivity
The water leakage detection is based on the voltage drop. When the external probe (water rope) is completely dry the measurement result is between maximum and minimum voltage thresholds. Once the rope is immersed in water, the device detects the voltage drop. If the voltage drops below the minimum threshold the device will change its state to “ALARM”. Efento water leak sensors come pre-calibrated and the initial calibration is not required. If the device is not sufficiently sensitive to flooding the probe, the minimum threshold may be increased. If the device changes its state despite the dry probe, increase the maximum threshold but first make sure that the probe is not damaged.
The range of the voltage values that define the correct measurements range (when the sensor shows “OK”) is defined as percentage of the maximum voltage measured, by two calibration parameters:
Minimum threshold (%)
It determines the minimum voltage value within the range corresponding to the correct measurement (without triggering an ALARM). By default set to 75%.
Maximum threshold (%)
It determines the maximum voltage value within the range corresponding to the correct measurement (without triggering an ALARM). By default set to 100%.
Important!- Minimum threshold cannot be larger than maximum threshold- Maximum threshold cannot be smaller than minimum threshold
Reversed logic
By default, if the water leak probe is dry, the sensor will report an “OK” state. If the probe is wet, it will report an “ALARM” state. It is possible to revert the logic (dry probe = ALARM, wet probe = OK).
Calibration settings described above can be done using the mobile application. Connect to the sensor -> settings (three dots in the upper right corner -> “Advanced” -> ”Calibration” -> “Calibration parameters” -> “Select a channel” -> “Reversed logic”.
